Mixed Nuts Win Trivia Night

Sam Ingram and his team of Mixed Nuts excelled in the “naughty corner” winning the Trivia Night. The team from Nurse Next Door came a close second followed by the Why Not Us Group from the back corner.

Mel and Mark threw out some challenging questions testing the ninety plus crowd.

A great night and our thanks to all club members - in particular Mel and Mark - who made it such a success.

Saturday Bowling - Times and Format

Response to the members’ poll favoured retention of the present start of 12.30PM.

Because the request for an earlier start was mainly to avoid late finishes in the cold, we will keep the same start at 12.30pm (Registration by 12Noon) but ring the bell no later than 3.30PM.

Also, we will try playing through with no break and will try other formats which might shorten game time eg 3-bowl pairs.

Learn to Bowl Bowlers have First Game

Friday saw the final day of the Learn to Bowl Class with students joining members in their first game. Lots has been learnt and still lots of finer details to pick up but overall the students look to the game with great enthusiasm. Many thanks to Wendy Gleeson who pulled it all together co-ordinating the program with students and coaches who also deserve a special thanks.

Learn to Bowl Classes - on a Roll

Some came through U3A and others heard about the opportunity to join the Learn to Bowl classes through friends. In all 15 people were shown the fundamentals of bowling by 5 of our club coaches. The first day was held in perfect conditions and will continue over the next month. Contact Wendy Gleeson if you are interested in these classes or any future classes.
